Following Lancaster City Council’s routine annual audit of Dolphinholme Playpark, we acknowledged the improvements recommended and, with respect to the climbing frame, agreed to upgrade the ‘Cushionfall’ wood chipping safety surface with rubber ‘Grass Mats’.

‘Cushionfall’ has been used for many years, and whilst offering very good fall protection, it does degrade with time lessening its performance and requiring renewal. Rubber ‘Grass Mats’ are a durable and versatile product that provide the required fall protection under such play equipment, whilst allowing the grass to grow through and maintain the appearance of the Playpark. Such mats are already in place around the slide and performing well.

We apologise for the inconvenience of the climbing frame being out of use during the upgrade but hope those who access it from now on will appreciate the benefit.
